On the afternoon of January 19, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the results of the National Excellent Student Exam for the school year 2025-2026. Accordingly, Thanh Hoa province had 86/90 students participating in the exam winning prizes, accounting for 96.63%. Notably, all 86 students winning prizes were students of Lam Son High School for the Gifted.
Among these, there are 8 first prizes, 26 second prizes, 32 third prizes and 20 consolation prizes. Specifically, Mathematics has 3 first prizes; Physics has 2 first prizes; Biology, Literature and English have 1 first prize each.
Previously, the National Excellent High School Graduation Exam for the 2025-2026 school year was held on December 25 and 26, 2025, with the participation of more than 6,750 candidates from localities across the country.
The exam was organized at 39 exam councils with 421 exam rooms. The Ministry of Education and Training mobilized 1,338 invigilators from localities to participate in the exam supervision work.
The Ministry of Education and Training said that candidates in subjects called up to participate in the 2026 Olympic Team Selection Exam (expected to be held in March 2026) if they achieve the score level according to regulations, including Mathematics from 26.00 points or higher; Physics from 23.25 points or higher; Chemistry from 26.375 points or higher; Biology from 25.00 points or higher; Informatics from 24.790 points or higher.
Accordingly, Lam Son High School for the Gifted has 11 students selected to participate in the 2026 Olympic Team Selection Exam in three subjects: Math, Physics and Biology.
According to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, the International Olympic Team Selection Exam in 2026 will be held on March 24, 25 and 26 in Hanoi.
