On September 29, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet - Principal of Phan Chu Trinh Primary School (Dak Lak province) - said that the school had sent a report to the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot ward and the Department of Education and Training of the province on boarding meals for students.
This move was implemented after social networks posted images of the school's meals on groups, causing a stir in public opinion.
According to Ms. Tuyet, previously, the image of the meal circulating on social media was taken by the school's health workers and sent to the Zalo group to "show off" the fact that students praised the portion of food on September 15 as delicious.
The image is truly the school's food, but the accompanying citation is untrue. The food tray in the photo was taken while students were eating unfinished. The school affirms that the meals are full of nutrients.
Principal of Phan Chu Trinh Primary School also said that the posted information that the meal worth 37,000 VND was not true. Currently, the school has not collected fees for boarding services, but is in advance of all expenses and will collect after the parent meeting.
Mr. Luu Tien Quang - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province - conducted a surprise inspection of the kitchen and food portion at Phan Chu Trinh Primary School. Through on-site inspection, the school's food hygiene and safety work - from food supply sources, kitchen hygiene, food sample storage, to nutrition standards - all comply with regulations.
According to Mr. Quang, if any school is found to be violating food safety and hygiene or cutting down on food rations, the principal of that unit will be strictly handled.
Previously, on social network Facebook, some groups of parents posted photos of the lunch with the content of saying that this was a meal for students at the "most famous school in Buon Ma Thuot" Phan Chu Trinh Primary School. Accordingly, each meal at school worth 37,000 VND has caused controversy on social networks, because the image of the meal has rice, stir-fried vegetables, soup, steamed eggs with minced meat. Many people think that the amount of food is less than the price of 37,000 VND that parents have to pay. Many people suspect that the school shows signs of "cutting" students' food rations.
