According to Mr. Be Hai, the number of books that are still lacking is mainly concentrated at the high school level, especially grade 10. The reason is that students only register for subject combinations after enrollment, leading to the demand for books for selected subjects arising.
Meanwhile, compulsory subjects such as Literature, Mathematics, basic History have been proactively registered by schools in advance. The Department of Education and Training is coordinating with publishers and distribution units to update daily needs.
According to the leader of Vinh Long Department of Education and Training, Tra Vinh area has a slightly larger shortage of books than the other two areas, accounting for about 34% of the province's total book shortage.
For students at ethnic minority boarding schools, textbooks are purchased from the budget and supplied, so schools are fully guaranteed.
For cases of book shortages, the sector has directed the implementation of temporary solutions to avoid affecting students' learning such as using electronic copies to serve learning,... Currently, the sector is actively coordinating with publishers and distribution units to deliver enough textbooks to students.
