According to ACV, after more than 5 months of construction, the main items of the project to repair the runway and taxiway of Lien Khuong airport have been completed.

Some remaining items such as building stone ditches, cutting grooves reached about 95%; painting signals, installing sidewalk lights, power supply systems and signs reached about 80%.

The unit is mobilizing maximum manpower and equipment to complete the entire remaining volume. The project is expected to be accepted in the first days of August; from August 5 to 10, specialized agencies will inspect the acceptance results before ACV completes the dossier to submit to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam for operating permits.

Mr. Tran Anh Vu - Deputy General Director of ACV - said that the construction process once encountered difficulties in materials and fuel sources. However, with the support of Lam Dong province and departments and branches, the obstacles have been removed, ensuring that the project closely follows the progress.

In parallel with the airport infrastructure, ACV is synchronously renovating the terminal, airport access roads, green tree system and environmental sanitation.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Phuong - Member of the Board of Directors of ACV, the unit sets detailed progress by day, by hour and clearly assigns responsibilities to ensure the airport operates again with a spacious appearance, meeting the criteria of "bright, green, clean, beautiful".

After upgrading, Lien Khuong International Airport has the ability to receive wide-body aircraft such as Airbus A350 and Boeing 787, creating conditions to expand domestic and international routes.

Restoring routes, promoting tourism

Along with completing the project, ACV coordinates with airlines to restore the flight network immediately after the airport opens.

Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Pacific Airlines and Bamboo Airways plan to operate these routes.

To attract airlines, ACV applies many preferential policies such as a 50% discount on take-off and landing service fees for new international routes for up to 24 months, reduced ground service fees and support for marketing work.

According to ACV, the resumption of operation of Lien Khuong International Airport not only restores aviation connectivity with Lam Dong but also creates motivation for tourism, trade, logistics development and investment attraction into the locality.
