On June 15, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) said that it had sent a document to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and the Aviation News Information Center (VATM) proposing a plan to restore Lien Khuong airport to operation from 0:00 on August 19.

Airports Corporation of Vietnam requests management agencies to consider issuing aviation information notices (NOTAM) according to the expected time; and at the same time coordinate to complete the necessary procedures for the airport to soon resume operations.
Previously, Lien Khuong airport was temporarily closed from March 4, 2026 to serve the project of repairing and upgrading runways and taxiways.
From there, in order to ensure flight safety and improve operational capacity from August 25 as initially planned.

Along with proposing to management agencies, ACV has also sent documents to airlines including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines and Pacific Airlines to prepare a plan to resume operations.
Airlines are requested to proactively develop flight plans, arrange aircraft and appropriate operating schedules to be ready to operate as soon as the airport is allowed to operate.

The reopening of Lien Khuong airport from August 19 is expected to help restore aviation connectivity between Da Lat and Lam Dong with major economic and tourist centers. Thereby, reducing pressure on road traffic in the past time.
