Hidden dangers from night squid fishing tours advertised online

Lam Dong - Police warn of hidden dangers from spontaneous "night squid fishing" tours, with unclear safety conditions advertised online.

On August 17, Mui Ne Ward Police (Lam Dong province) warned about the situation of advertising and inviting participation in squid fishing and night fishing experience tours at sea.

According to Mui Ne Ward Police, "Night squid fishing" often takes participants far from the shore or to areas with complex weather conditions, waves, winds and currents. Spontaneous activities may use vehicles that are not suitable for carrying passengers, lack life-saving equipment or communication.

If engine failure, collision, bad weather or people falling into the water occur, handling the incident will be difficult.

The police agency also noted that free fishing and squid fishing activities must comply with regulations on exploitation and protection of aquatic resources. Participants are not allowed to freely exploit in any area, time or use prohibited fishing gear and methods.

Mui Ne Ward Police recommends that people not participate in spontaneous tours of unknown origin and not ensuring safety conditions. When detecting signs of violations, people need to report to the government or functional agencies for inspection and handling.

Choosing qualified services not only helps protect tourists but also contributes to building a safe and civilized marine tourism environment.
