On March 7, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nam, Head of Project Management Board 2, said that the unit had requested contractors to repair the damage and cracks on National Highway 19, the section passing through Mang Yang and Dak Doa districts.
According to Mr. Nam, the main cause of the damage is due to weather, heavy rain causing local erosion of the road.
When the road is upgraded, expanded and traffic is smooth, some units still object to the re-management of National Highway 19, especially the section through Mang Yang and Dak Doa districts. The reason is that concerns about the road surface are not guaranteed to be smooth.

Regarding National Highway 19 through Gia Lai province, the Road Management Office III.4 (under Road Management Area III, Vietnam Road Administration) has sent many official dispatches requesting Project Management Board 2 to urge contractors to repair damages on the road and install appropriate, scientific, and easy-to-recognize signs to avoid traffic conflicts.
Mr. Tran Thai Hoa, Head of Road Management Office III.4, said that currently, many locations with signs limiting speed on National Highway 19, especially sections through schools, are unreasonable. Many bus and truck drivers are upset because their speed limit is below 40km/h all day at school locations, affecting traffic and easily being fined.
The Road Management Office III.4 has requested a speed limit of 40km/h at schools only from 16:30 to 17:30, when parents come to pick up their children. However, the investor of the National Highway 19 project has not yet implemented this plan.
Following the direction of the Vietnam Road Administration, the Road Management Office III.4 will continue to patrol, review unreasonable signs and adjust them to ensure traffic safety, especially on National Highways and expressways with high traffic volume.
