Sticking to the road during holidays
In the afternoon of August 31, although it was the National Day holiday, units under the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of Lam Dong Provincial Police still maintained 100% of their personnel, organized guidance, remote traffic diversion and handled arising situations.
On National Highway 20 - the arterial road connecting Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast provinces with Lam Dong, the traffic volume has increased compared to normal days.
Despite the rain, officers and soldiers of Madaguoi Traffic Police Station still stick to the road, set up checkpoints to check speed, alcohol concentration and handle violations.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Thu - Head of Madaguoi Traffic Police Station - said that the unit focuses on handling violations that pose a risk of accidents and congestion such as speeding, illegal parking, and alcohol concentration violations.
The force also inspects and handles the situation of teenagers driving modified motorbikes and large displacement motorbikes.
The traffic volume on National Highway 20 on holidays is more crowded than usual. Task forces are arranged appropriately to both control violations and support people and tourists when encountering incidents," Lieutenant Colonel Thu said.
Mr. Ho Duc Manh - a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City - said that his family drove a car to Da Lat for 4 days of holiday. According to him, complying with traffic regulations is a way to ensure safety for himself and his family throughout the journey.
Strengthening control of pass routes
Not only National Highway 20, traffic police forces also strengthen patrols on National Highways 27, 28, 28B and 55, especially at gateways, pass routes and sections with high traffic volume.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Giang - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Team in Duc Trong area - said that in the early days of the holiday, vehicles on National Highway 28B in the direction of Da Lat were quite crowded, especially in the Dai Ninh pass area.
Functional forces have arranged patrol and control teams to maintain smooth traffic. Some speeding cases have been detected and handled according to regulations.
At Bao Loc Pass on National Highway 20, the traffic police force of the pass checkpoint also continuously patrolled and controlled, promptly detecting and handling cases of lane encroachment and reckless overtaking, contributing to ensuring safety for people and tourists.
Traffic police recommend that people proactively choose the appropriate time and route; comply with the instructions of functional forces, do not use alcohol when driving, do not speed, overtake recklessly or stop or park arbitrarily.
During peak days, the strengthening of traffic police forces on national highways both contributes to reducing the risk of accidents and congestion, and creates conditions for people and tourists to have safe journeys when coming to Da Lat for holidays.
