Talking to reporters, an officer of Ngoc Hoi Commune Police said that immediately after the incident occurred, local functional forces came to the scene to coordinate with the Traffic Police, Fire and Rescue Police to carry out traffic diversion, traffic regulation and rescue work, and at the same time investigate the cause of the accident.
As Lao Dong newspaper reported earlier, at about 7:51 pm on February 25, train SE3 locomotive 942 running in the North-South direction to the Thuong Tin - Van Dien section, Ngoc Hoi commune, collided with a cargo truck at an automatic barrier at the level crossing.
At the time of the incident, the truck was turning across the level crossing when the barrier lowered, and the vehicle was trapped on the railway. The strong collision caused the train and car to skid along the railway track for nearly 100 m.
