Struggling to move on the gateway road of Ho Chi Minh City on the eve of Tet

The high number of vehicles on the days before Tet causes the northwestern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City to often be in a state of traffic congestion.

Truong Chinh and Cong Hoa streets are one of the main roads at the Northwest gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, connecting Districts 12, Tan Binh, Tan Phu and Hoc Mon district with the center of Ho Chi Minh City and Tan Son Nhat airport.

On these routes, there is always a very high traffic density, especially on these days, the high traffic volume causes the two routes to often experience traffic jams, even at noon.

At around 10am on January 15, although rush hour had passed, there were still a lot of vehicles on Truong Chinh Street. At many intersections, there was a prolonged traffic jam, and people could only move slowly.

Mr. Luong Van Hoai (technology car driver) said that traffic congestion and jams on Truong Chinh Street are a daily occurrence.

"This is a gateway road so there are a lot of vehicles, so traffic jams are understandable. During these days near Tet, the number of people participating in traffic increases, so the road is more congested," said Mr. Hoai.
