The road project connecting Thach Bich bridge to Tho Phong commune is only 6.11 km long, but in the process of implementation, many "bottlenecks" have appeared that have lasted for many years due to site clearance problems.
The project has a total investment of more than 694 billion VND, implemented from 2019 - 2025, invested by the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board. When completed, the project will reduce the load on National Highway 1 and National Highway 24B, especially the section through Truong Quang Trong ward and VSIP Industrial Park, and create motivation for local socio-economic development. However, to date, the project is still unfinished.
According to reporters' records on September 22, at the starting point connecting National Highway 24B (Truong Quang Trong ward), the road surface has been paved with asphalt, painted, and planted with quite complete green trees, however, going about 300 m, the road suddenly "interrupted" because many houses have not been relocated, so mechanical equipment construction is slow.
According to the investor's report, to date, the project has handed over 80.5% of the site along the route length; the value of the implemented volume reached 222 billion VND, equal to 54.3% of the contract value. The 2026 capital plan alone was allocated 110 billion VND, and 103.4 billion VND has been disbursed, reaching 94% of the plan; the accumulated disbursed value from the beginning of the project to date has reached 91% of the allocated capital plan.
In the afternoon of September 19, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee inspected the actual road project connecting Thach Bich bridge to Tinh Phong.
At locations still facing site clearance issues, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang directly inspected, grasped the situation, and requested units and localities to focus on finding solutions to remove obstacles and accelerate site clearance work.
Through inspection, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang requested departments, branches, localities and investors to focus, closely coordinate, and urgently remove difficulties and obstacles, especially in compensation and site clearance work, ensuring project implementation progress.
Regarding Truong Quang Trong ward, Mr. Hoang requested the locality to urgently implement the assigned tasks, striving to hand over the entire entangled site in the ward to the investor by September 30, 2026, to serve the project construction.
Relevant localities continue to strengthen propaganda and mobilization, creating consensus among people in the process of project implementation; promptly resolve or propose to competent authorities to consider and handle arising difficulties and obstacles, contributing to accelerating the progress of key projects of the province.
