It is expected that in 2026, the Trade Union Project Management Board will start construction of 8 Trade Union social housing projects in 8 provinces and cities.

Mr. Trinh Quang Minh - Deputy Head of the Trade Union Project Management Department, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) - said that from the beginning of 2025 to now, the VGCL has started construction of 3 projects in Dong Thap, Vinh Long and Bac Ninh provinces.

Specifically, the Trade Union social housing project in Vinh Long province was started on September 30, 2025. The project is built in Giao Long commune with an area of over 3.3 hectares, including 4 7-storey apartment buildings, 2 2-storey parking lots, a garden, internal traffic system, an outdoor parking lot, a sports area and an outdoor stage. The total investment is more than 554.5 billion VND from the Trade Union's financial resources.

For the Trade Union social housing project in Bac Ninh province (old Bac Giang province), started on September 25, 2025, with an area of about 2 hectares in 2 land plots CT-01 and HH-01 in Ho Cong Du residential area (Viet Yen ward). The main items include 2 blocks of 10-storey houses with a total floor area of 30,166 m2, providing 477 closed apartments for rent, equipped with basic equipment and furniture such as elevators, beds, wardrobes, kitchen cabinets... The project also has a 3-storey parking lot with a total floor area of 3,024 m2. The total investment is 387.6 billion VND.

The Trade Union Institution Project in My Tho Industrial Park, Trung An Industrial Cluster (Tien Giang Province, now part of Dong Thap Province) is invested by Trade Union financial resources on a land plot of about 3 hectares in Trung An Ward. This project started on July 26, 2025.

When the above Trade Union social housing projects are completed, it will contribute to meeting the housing needs of union members and workers; creating a vibrant atmosphere of labor competition and production; and at the same time contributing to the goal of the 1 million apartment project approved by the Government, said Mr. Minh.

Mr. Trinh Quang Minh also informed that from now until the end of 2025, the Trade Union Project Management Board will continue to coordinate with the People's Committees of Quang Ngai province and the People's Committees of Bac Ninh province to complete procedures and start construction of 2 Trade Union institutional projects in the above two localities. In addition, it is expected that in 2026, the Trade Union Project Management Board will start construction of 8 Trade Union social housing projects in 8 provinces and cities.

Mr. Minh emphasized that the social housing projects for workers of the Trade Union not only solve the urgent need for housing but also demonstrate the responsibility of the Trade Union organization in caring for the lives of union members and workers. When put into use, these projects will help workers have a safe and convenient place to live, improve their lives, work with peace of mind and contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality.
