On July 1st, information from the Office of the Da Nang City People's Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Thai Binh chaired a working session with the Management Board of Chu Lai Open Economic Zone to assess the implementation of the project to invest in construction and business of infrastructure of Tam Hiep Industrial Park (IP), port logistics (Nui Thanh commune).
According to a report by the Infrastructure Development Center (Chu Lai Open Economic Zone Management Board) - the project investor, Tam Hiep Industrial Park and Port Logistics has been implemented since 2002 with a planned scale of about 417ha.
To date, the project has basically completed the essential technical infrastructure system serving the operation of the IP. This includes internal traffic system, ground leveling, rainwater drainage, wastewater collection and drainage system, centralized wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 4,800m3/day and night, and synchronously invested electricity and water supply systems.
Up to now, the total realized investment capital has reached more than 775 billion VND, mainly allocated for compensation, site clearance and investment in technical infrastructure construction. Of which, about 363ha have completed compensation, support and site clearance work.
In parallel with the completion of infrastructure, the IP has attracted 41 secondary investment projects (including 38 domestic projects and 3 foreign-invested projects) with a total registered capital of about 10,884 billion VND. The total land area leased to investors reached about 252.73ha, with a occupancy rate of 73.88%.
Projects currently operating here mainly belong to the fields of mechanics, construction material production, food processing, industrial plastics and industrial sanitary equipment, contributing to promoting industrial development and creating jobs for workers in the area.
At the working session, the Infrastructure Development Center reported on some difficulties and obstacles arising in the land lease process of enterprises, affecting investment progress. At the same time, the unit proposed that functional agencies conduct inspections and handle cases of investment and land use for improper purposes in accordance with the law.
Concluding the working session, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Thai Binh requested the Infrastructure Development Center to focus on accelerating the site clearance progress for the remaining area of the project, in order to create a clean land fund to serve investment attraction.
At the same time, assigning the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Finance and relevant agencies to urgently complete the determination and submission for approval of specific land prices for 55.1ha of the project. This is the basis for fully implementing land procedures, creating favorable conditions for investors to accelerate the implementation progress.
Regarding the difficulties and obstacles of businesses, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Management Board of Chu Lai Open Economic Zone to proactively coordinate with relevant departments and branches to conduct reviews, inspections, summarize and propose to competent authorities for consideration and timely resolution. Thereby, contributing to improving the investment environment, improving the operational efficiency of the IP, Tam Hiep port logistics and promoting the dynamic role of economic development of the southern area of the city.
