Gia Lai voters propose a series of traffic issues

Xuyên Đông |

Gia Lai voters have just petitioned the Ministry of Transport about a series of shortcomings in the area.

Voters said that the National Highway 19 bypass passing through Bong Lar village, Ia Bang commune, Dak Doa district needs to reinforce the drainage ditch section Km6+840-Km7+00; lead the flow and drainage holes downstream of the sewers at Km6+840; add downstream at locations Km6+520, Km6+160; drainage ditches at Km5+086-Km5+132 (02 on the route side). Because of the rainy season, the amount of water pouring into coffee and rice fields makes it impossible for households here to cultivate.

The quality of the construction of National Highway 19 through Dak Doa district is also a problem that voters complain about. The project has just been paved with asphalt, and there have appeared signs of subsidence, many potholes, in some locations with deep potholes, at risk of accidents for vehicles participating in traffic. Request the construction unit to take remedial and repair measures.

Voters also requested the Ministry of Transport to direct functional units to promptly resolve the petitions of voters in Duc Co district regarding inadequacies in the implementation of the project to enhance traffic connectivity in the Central Highlands region through Duc Co district.

The People's Committee of Duc Co district has proactively coordinated with the investor and construction units to coordinate in inspecting the site and has issued many documents requesting the Investor (Project Management Board II of the Ministry of Transport) to coordinate. The Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee has also issued many documents recommending the Ministry of Transport to consider and resolve.

However, the handling of the Investor's voters' petitions is still slow, many petitions have not been resolved yet, allowing voters to continue to give opinions and recommendations for a long time.

Responding to this issue, the Ministry of Transport said that for locations that need to reinforce drainage ditches according to voters' recommendations, Project Management Board 2 (QLDA 2) has organized a site inspection.

The Board has requested consulting units and construction contractors to study solutions to overcome the shortcomings, to avoid affecting households' farming when the rainy season comes.

Up to now, the construction unit has had a plan and is implementing construction to handle problems related to drainage at the above locations.

"The repair work is expected to be completed in February 2025," said the Ministry of Transport.

For locally damaged asphalt concrete locations in Dak Doa town: Immediately after receiving information about the damage, the Ministry of Transport issued a document requesting Project Management Board 2 to direct the construction contractor to urgently find temporary solutions to repair damaged areas of asphalt concrete road surface during the rainy season.

Project Management Board 2 presides over and coordinates with contractors, supervision consultants, and inspection consultants to organize inspections, reviews of the site, analyze, evaluate, and propose solutions to thoroughly overcome and take advantage of the weather to organize the repair of damaged locations, ensuring that the project's technical standards are met, ensuring load-bearing capacity and project life.

The repair and remediation process must be supervised and quality management must comply with regulations.

Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Transport, Project Management Board 2 has directed the supervision consultancy unit and the construction contractor to report the cause of damage, make a repair and remedial plan to ensure safety for vehicles participating in traffic as well as ensure quality according to requirements. Up to now, contractors have completed the repair and restoration of the above damaged road surfaces, ensuring smoothness and required quality.

Currently, the contractor is continuing to monitor and promptly repair damage in case of damage.

The Ministry of Transport said about the National Highway 19 project through Duc Co district (Km206+00 - Km241+00), during the implementation of the project, the Ministry of Transport has issued many documents directing and requesting Project Management Board 2 and related units to organize a review and overcome the shortcomings according to voters' recommendations.

The above solutions must ensure that they are consistent with reality, meet the project's completion progress and the legitimate requirements of the people, absolutely do not let complaints or lawsuits occur, causing public outrage, affecting the reputation of the transport sector.

According to the report of Project Management Board 2, up to now, the recommendations of voters of Duc Co district that need to be corrected have been accepted and implemented by the Investor and contractors.
