On September 2nd, the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police said that it is coordinating with forces to strengthen inspection of passenger transport activities on the Phan Thiet - Phu Quy route to ensure safety for people and tourists traveling to the island.
In which, Riverine Police Team No. 2 directly coordinated with Binh Thuan Maritime Administration and Thanh Hai Border Guard Station to inspect 5 high-speed passenger ships operating on the route.

One of the contents to be checked is measuring alcohol concentration for crew members before the ship departs. Functional forces also check registration documents, inspection, technical safety conditions of vehicles; qualifications, professional certificates of captains and crew members.
The situation of carrying too many people, overloading goods and complying with regulations on rescue and relief is also strictly controlled.
Through inspection, functional forces combined propaganda on waterway traffic laws for transport businesses, crew members and people. Only vehicles with remaining shortcomings that are required to be rectified are licensed for ships to leave the port.

Lieutenant Colonel Truong Cong Thanh, Head of Waterway Police Team No. 2, said that the Phan Thiet - Phu Quy route is a key passenger transport route. Therefore, functional forces will strengthen station tracking, strictly control safety conditions, contributing to ensuring the travel of people and tourists.
Over the past time, the number of passengers traveling on the Phan Thiet - Phu Quy waterway transport route has continuously increased. The sea trip on this route is about 2.5 hours. It has now entered the northeast monsoon season, and weather conditions at sea may be complicated.
Therefore, functional forces strengthen inspection and tighten maritime safety conditions, especially the compliance of crew members with regulations, to ensure safety for passengers throughout the journey.
