The project to build a different-level intersection between Ring Road 3.5 and Thang Long Avenue, Hoai Duc District was approved by the Hanoi People's Council in a resolution on investment policy from 2022.
According to the Hanoi People's Committee, the construction of the Ring Road 3.5 intersection project with Thang Long Avenue aims to complete the planned traffic infrastructure system, connecting and exploiting the built traffic infrastructure appropriately.
At the same time, reduce traffic congestion, contribute to the development of production and business, accelerate the formation of urban areas in the area, promote the socio-economic development of the capital in general.
The project has a total investment of about VND 2,384 billion, of which the cost of compensation, support for site clearance and resettlement is about VND 387 billion, invested by the Hanoi City Civil Works Construction Investment Project Management Board.
The project to build an intersection includes turbine branches combined with direct tunnels.
Accordingly, the direct underpass was built in the direction of Le Trong Tan (now Hoang Tung Street) to National Highway 32, the route heart of Hoang Tung Street, arranged with 4 lanes with a total length of 975m.
The section under Thang Long Avenue is designed with a closed tunnel of 150m; Hoang Tung Street is designed with an open tunnel of 157.5m, a retaining wall of 220m; National Highway 32 has an open tunnel of 157.5m, a retaining wall of 200m.
The remaining part is the wheel cover; the temporary reinforced concrete girder turbine branch bridge is 2,346m/4 branches long, the width of the bridge is 8.8m, arranged with 2 lanes for motor vehicles, the reinforced concrete retaining wall has a total length of 785.5m/8 behind the abutment.
At this intersection project, the closed tunnel structure is made of reinforced concrete placed on the D400 front-end reinforced concrete pile foundation; the cross-section is 18.5m (inner part, 2 tunnel walls), the tunnel length is 150m.
The structure of the open tunnel is made of reinforced concrete placed on the foundation of the D400 prestressed reinforced concrete pile; the cross-section is 18.5m (inner part, 2 tunnel walls), the length of the open tunnel on each side is 157.5m.
According to Lao Dong, the project started on February 23 and the contractor is currently gathering machinery and clearing land for construction.
