Hanoi plans to prevent congestion at many intersections

Hanoi - Authorities are preparing to deploy solutions to reduce congestion on many routes and intersections in the area.

The Hanoi Department of Construction has just requested the Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board to coordinate with affiliated units to deploy solutions to ensure traffic safety and reduce traffic congestion in the city.

Notably, the Hanoi Department of Construction requested its affiliated units to implement a plan to cut off the median strip with a length of 70m and a width of 3m in front of Taisei Tower 289 Khuat Duy Tien building; move green infrastructure, lighting... and move the bus waiting location back towards Trung Hoa intersection 150m between pillars T221-T222; narrow part of the traffic island on Khuat Duy Tien street at the red light waiting location at Trung Hoa intersection towards Mai Dich, narrowing about 3.2m.

At the Do Duc Duc - Pham Hung intersection, the Hanoi Department of Construction requested to count the volume of vehicles turning left from Pham Hung Street to Do Duc Duc Street and the road connecting from the Nam Trung Yen resettlement area to Pham Hung Street. On that basis, research is being conducted to adjust traffic lights to suit actual vehicle traffic volume.

On Nguyen Khoi Street (from Thanh Tri Bridge to Vinh Tuy Bridge), the Department requested the placement of a sign prohibiting trucks during peak hours (morning from 6am to 9am, afternoon from 4pm to 7:00pm) from inside the border gate to Nguyen Khoi dike road at the location: Hanoi Port, dike guarding 18 opposite Alley 670; Alley 615; Alley 653; Alley 683.

At the Giai Phong - Le Duan - Dai Co Viet intersection, the Department requested the arrangement of a left turn for vehicles from Giai Phong Street to Xa Dan; install a curb to prevent motorcyclists from entering the lane for people with disabilities on the traffic island on Xa Dan Street.

At the May 10 - Nguyen Van Linh intersection, the cycle of the traffic light system for pedestrians crossing the road is adjusted to suit the traffic volume in the area to reduce congestion on the route.

The area of Phap Van Expressway's service road at the end of Lane 15 Tran Thu Do has been installed with B40 fence at damaged, lost and missing locations; repaired damaged guardrails...
