On the morning of January 15, the Nam Dinh Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board held a ceremony to close the new Lac Quan bridge on the new Nam Dinh - Lac Quan - coastal road.
The project to build the new Nam Dinh - Lac Quan - coastal road is divided into 3 packages with a total investment of about 6,400 billion VND. The scale of the first-class plain road, the design speed is 100km/h, the roadbed width is 39m, the road surface is 8 lanes, the synchronous design of bridges and culverts on the route ensures that it is suitable for the scale of the road.
At the ceremony, Mr. Dinh Van Phuong - Director of Nam Dinh Province Construction Investment Project Management Board - said that Lac Quan bridge is the largest bridge on the route, keeping the old bridge intact, building a new unit with a width of 17m on the right side of the old bridge (towards the downstream of Ninh Co river), connecting Truc Ninh district with Xuan Truong district. The total length of the bridge is 508.8m.
After the Lac Quan bridge is closed, the construction of the bridgehead and branch roads under package 2 will be completed. For the entire route, the foundation and finishing work will be urgently carried out, striving to complete the main items to open to traffic by the end of the second quarter of 2025.
The new Lac Quan bridge and the new Nam Dinh - Lac Quan - coastal road when completed will contribute to completing the road traffic network, connecting conveniently with the regional and national traffic system. At the same time, it will reduce the load on the currently very narrow National Highway 21, shortening the time to transport goods and passengers from the southern districts of the province to the center of Nam Dinh city, to the capital Hanoi and the provinces and cities in the Red River Delta.
