Prosecution of the bus driver in the accident on National Highway 6 that killed 6 people

On the morning of February 22, the Investigation Police Agency of Son La Province Police issued a decision to prosecute the criminal case; Order to detain and arrest the detainee in an emergency case against Nguyen Dinh Hung (born in 1983, residing in My Duc, Hanoi) who was a passenger car driver who caused a serious accident on National Highway 6 in Sap Van Commune, Yen Chau District.

According to Son La Provincial Police, Nguyen Dinh Hung drove a car with license plate 26F-00908 to a curved road, the road surface was slippery due to rain, not ensuring safe speed, leading to the rear of the passenger car sliding, swerving to the left side of the road, going in the wrong direction and colliding with a car with license plate 36C-09593 pulling a trailer 36R-00473 driven by Mr. Do Xuan Thanh.

As reported, the traffic accident occurred at 11:22 p.m., at Km 235 + 100 National Highway 6 in Ban Thin, Sap Vat Commune.

The accident killed 6 people, injured many others, and damaged 2 cars blocking the entire road.

The breath alcohol test of the bus driver showed a result of 0.000mg/L of breath, negative for drugs. For drivers of tractor-trailers, urine testing results are negative for drugs and blood alcohol concentration while waiting for test results.

Based on the preliminary examination results determining the cause of the accident due to rain and slippery road surfaces, the bus driver did not control the speed, so when turning around, half of the rear body of the bus was thrown into the opposite lane and collided with a tractor-trailer.
