D'ran Pass is a vital pass on National Highway 20 for people to travel and transport goods from Phan Rang area (Khanh Hoa province) and now D'ran commune to the center of Da Lat and vice versa.
From October 26 to October 30, due to the impact of heavy rains, leading to the National Highway 20 section from Km262+400 - Km262+530 (D'ran Pass suspension bridge area) in Xuan Truong - Da Lat ward, landslides, subsidence cracks in the foundation and road surface caused traffic congestion.

On November 2, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee issued a Decision to declare a natural disaster emergency on the road of National Highway 20, section Km262+400 - Km262+530.
Since the landslide, D'ran Pass has been blocked and closed to prevent traffic to overcome the landslide. Traffic through the pass is divided into other traffic directions to Da Lat and vice versa.
Mr. Truong, a resident of D'ran commune, said that since the pass was banned from circulation, the transportation price of fresh persimmons and other goods from D'ran commune to Da Lat has doubled, even tripled.

Specifically, a truck carrying goods from D'ran commune to Da Lat used to be only 500,000 VND, now 1.5 million VND; a box of goods sent only 50,000 VND before has now increased to 100,000 VND.
"The reason is that trucks have to run around National Highway 27 to Fi Nom intersection to turn onto National Highway 20, pass Dinh An toll station to Lien Khuong - Prenn Expressway to get to Da Lat. Because the transportation distance has nearly doubled, the cost of transporting goods has also increased accordingly" - Mr. Truong said.

Similarly, traders of fresh seafood from Phan Rang (Khanh Hoa) to (Xuan Truong ward - Da Lat) also face difficulties, some have to temporarily stop moving goods to Da Lat.
In addition, many workers from D'ran commune who come to work at factories in Phat Chi Industrial Park, Xuan Truong - Da Lat ward are also facing many difficulties.

Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, there are currently dozens of students in the Tram Hanh area studying at schools in D'ran commune.
Before the landslide, the distance from the children's home to school was about 6 - 10 km.
However, after D'ran Pass was blocked, the students had to travel nearly 100 km around and could not go home during the day, and renting also encountered many difficulties. Therefore, opening this temporary road is very necessary for children to go to school.

To facilitate their children's travel and study, many people have joined hands to open a mountain trail along a hill across D'ran Pass.
Opening this temporary road is very necessary for students to go to school and people to work.
However, due to continuous rain, narrow roads, steep terrain, weak soil, and mud, traveling is very difficult.
Every day, parents have to use 3 tractors to transport students; send people to be on duty at the scene to support motorcyclists to cross muddy, slippery roads.
Faced with the above situation, people hope Lam Dong province will soon overcome the landslide situation of D'Ran Pass to facilitate travel to study, produce, and transport goods.
