From August 30, 2025 to September 2, 2025, the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center will coordinate with bus transport enterprises and Hanoi Railway Company Limited to implement exemption of tickets for using subsidized public passenger transport (buses and urban railways) for people and tourists.
This is a continuation of the country's A80 event celebration event, aiming to support and create the most favorable conditions for people and tourists to travel, travel to historical sites, participate in events and activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, contributing to reducing traffic congestion and reducing environmental pollution, implementing the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee.
Scope of application: 128 subsidized bus routes in the city and 2 urban railway routes (route 2A Cat Linh - Ha Dong, route 3.1 Nhon - Cau Giay).
Applicable period: Within 4 days, from August 30, 2025 (Saturday) to September 2, 2025 (Tuesday).
Implementation form:
For buses: Passengers are given single-trip tickets according to the route's dirty rates but do not have to pay.
For urban railways: Passengers are issued paper tickets with prices according to the regulations of the City People's Committee, depending on their travel needs, but do not have to pay for tickets.

For passengers using monthly tickets (normal and priority) and free tickets (using a hard card or virtual card): Only need to present when participating in the service.
The Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to preside over, direct, and coordinate with the Hanoi Traffic Management and Operation Center, units providing subsidized public passenger transport services by bus and Hanoi Railway Company Limited to deploy implementation plans to ensure safety and efficiency; best serve the travel needs of people and tourists.
Assign the Departments of Culture and Sports, Tourism, Science and Technology; People's Committees of wards and communes to strengthen propaganda and information on traffic diversion plans, parking stops, bus route operations and public passenger transport networks connecting to tourist attractions and events in the capital so that the majority of people and tourists know and participate.
According to Mr. Thai Ho Phuong - Director of the Public Transport Management and Operation Center (Hanoi Department of Transport), the implementation of free use of subsidized public passenger transport (buses and urban railways) on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2, 2025 is a practical activity, demonstrating the concern of the Party and government leaders of the City for people's lives.
This activity also contributes to building the image of the capital Hanoi as a modern, civilized, environmentally friendly city through the public transport system, reducing congestion and improving the quality of life for people.
