Hanoi Railway Company Limited (Hanoi Metro) - the operator of the Cat Linh - Ha Dong and Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro lines, has just released its financial report for the first half of 2025. According to the report, after-tax profit was VND 9.98 billion, nearly 3 times higher than the VND 3.34 billion in the first 6 months of 2024.
The main factor that helps Hanoi Metro's after-tax profit increase sharply comes from financial revenue with VND23.6 billion from deposit and loan interest. The report also shows that the company currently has more than 83 billion VND deposited in banks, nearly double the figure at the beginning of the reporting period.
In 2025, Hanoi Metro aims to have a total revenue of VND 878.4 billion, an increase of 40% compared to 2024. The target for pre-tax profit and after-tax profit is VND 27 billion and VND 20.7 billion. Thus, the results of the first 6 months of this year have exceeded the revenue target by half and nearly reached the profit target after tax by 50%.
The unit also aims to carry 19.3 million passengers with 159,732 ships in 2025. Revenue from passenger transport is 111.5 billion VND, equivalent to 1/8 of total revenue.
At the end of July, the Government Inspectorate issued a plan to inspect a number of large projects under the Ministry of Construction, showing signs of being behind schedule, prolonged, low efficiency, and potentially causing loss and waste of the budget. Among the projects subject to inspection is the Hanoi Urban Railway Project, Cat Linh - Ha Dong route, with a total investment of VND18,000 billion.
The Cat Linh - Ha Dong metro line is 13 km long, traveling elevatedly through 12 stations. Each train has 4 cars, carrying 960 people, a maximum speed of 80 km/h, and an exploitation speed of 35 km/h. The train travel time for the entire route is 23 minutes.
The Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro line has a total length of 12.5 km. Of which, the elevated section (Nhon - Cau Giay) is 8.5 km long and the underground section (Cau Giay - Hanoi Railway Station) is 4 km long. The ship has a maximum speed of 80 km/h, an average operating speed of 35 km/h, carrying about 950 passengers.
