In the afternoon of March 9th, the People's Committees of Xuan Huong - Da Lat, Lam Vien - Da Lat, Cam Ly - Da Lat and Xuan Truong - Da Lat wards (Lam Dong province) coordinated to provide information on traffic diversion plans and solutions to stimulate tourism demand during the temporary suspension of operation of Lien Khuong airport.

According to forecasts, the closure of the airport for repairs may affect about 1 million passengers traveling by air, causing a sharp increase in road traffic.

According to the traffic diversion plan, trucks with a tonnage of 3.5 tons or more are prohibited from circulating from 6 am to 9 pm daily on the following routes: Tran Phu, Hoang Van Thu, Ho Tung Mau, Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, Tran Quoc Toan, Ba Thang Hai, Hai Thuong, Hoang Dieu, Hai Ba Trung, Phan Dinh Phung, Nguyen Cong Tru, Bui Thi Xuan, Phu Dong Thien Vuong, Tran Nhan Tong, Tran Le.

Trucks can travel from National Highway 20, 27C in the direction of Tran Quy Cap - Nguyen Dinh Chieu - Suong Nguyet Anh - Nguyen Tu Luc - Mai Anh Dao - Thanh Mau - Xo Viet Nghe Tinh - Ankroet (Dan Kia) and vice versa.
Trucks entering and leaving Da Lat gateway on DT. 725 route (Ta Nung pass) will move in the direction of Van Thanh - Hoang Van Thu - Da Lat ring road (An Ton) - Tran Thanh Tong and vice versa.

In addition, functional agencies will install 22 signs prohibiting trucks over 1.5 tons during the hours of 6 - 8 am, 10 - 12 pm and 16 - 18 pm at intersections in the central area such as the fountain, Hoa Binh area, Lam Vien Square, Hai Thuong, Hoang Dieu and Ba Thang Hai.
On central roads such as Le Dai Hanh, Hoa Binh area, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Ba Thang Hai and Phan Boi Chau, vehicles carrying more than 29 seats will also be restricted.

Ms. Tran Thi Vu Loan - Chairwoman of Xuan Huong Ward People's Committee - Da Lat - said that during the time Lien Khuong airport is closed, the number of vehicles to Da Lat is forecast to increase significantly, especially during the summer tourist season.
The locality will survey some vacant land areas to arrange temporary parking lots to meet the needs of tourists.
