Regarding arranging business locations for small traders after launching a campaign to reclaim sidewalks, Mr. Truong Thanh Dung - Chairman of Hoa Cuong Ward People's Committee said that this is a difficult problem for the ward level.
Mr. Dung informed: "Actually, this is a very difficult task. To plan, there must be a land fund, an area and ensuring the necessary conditions. We cannot put people in a too narrow alley to plan a business place.
According to the leader of Hoa Cuong Ward People's Committee, to definitively resolve the situation of sidewalk encroachment while still ensuring social security, the locality will propose to higher levels.
In the process of implementation, we will report directly to the City People's Committee for support and direction. The goal is to have synchronization throughout the city, not just Hoa Cuong ward. We want to find better locations to arrange for people to do business, both ensuring no violations of urban order and aesthetics, and helping people stabilize their lives," Mr. Dung affirmed.
In addition to finding land funds to build concentrated business areas, Mr. Dung also proposed that there should be financial support policies for small traders to have conditions to build stores and transform into more civilized business models.
Currently, Hoa Cuong ward is continuing to review and classify sidewalk business households, especially poor households and households in difficult circumstances, to have specific support plans, avoiding the situation of "catching and letting go" after campaigns.
