On March 1, the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province announced that Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung had just signed an Official Dispatch requesting the Ministry of Finance to consider and allocate 500 billion VND from increased revenue and savings from the central budget in 2024, to upgrade and expand National Highways 14D and 14B in the province in 2025.
These two national highways play an important role in connecting the Central and Central Highlands regions. Previously, the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) proposed that the Prime Minister assign Quang Nam to preside over the project implementation, and the Ministry of Planning and Investment also proposed using increased revenue sources for implementation. The Prime Minister has agreed to assign the Ministry of Finance to report to competent authorities on investment capital support.
The People's Committee of Quang Nam province committed to allocating local budgets to serve site clearance and will disburse 100% of the allocated capital plan. The remaining capital to implement the project will continue to be balanced in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026 - 2030.
