Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee has just chaired a working session with the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board and relevant departments, branches, and localities on the progress of 3 important traffic projects of the province on the afternoon of March 24.
Including 2 new projects including: Tra Khuc 1 bridge; upgrading National Highway 24B section Km23 - Km29 and 1 transition project from 2025 is upgrading and expanding the transport infrastructure system in Dung Quat Economic Zone.
At the meeting, the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board reported on the progress of 2 new projects, including: Tra Khuc 1 bridge and upgrading National Highway 24B section Km23 - Km29; and committed to completing procedures, ensuring sufficient conditions for commencement before June 2026.
The investor of Tra Khuc 1 Bridge project is the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, which is submitting for appraisal the design dossier, as a basis for completing the procedures for selecting construction contractors; expected to start construction on June 30, 2026.
The Tra Khuc 1 bridge project was approved in August 2025, with a total investment of nearly 2,200 billion VND; total length 830 m, of which the bridge section is more than 577 m long, and the rest is the road in the north and south sides; the expected completion time is in 2027.
For the project to upgrade National Highway 24B section Km23 - Km29, the site clearance unit has inventoried, developed a land recovery plan and notified households within the project area; and plans to arrange resettlement for households whose land is recovered to serve construction.
The investor is requesting the consulting unit to complete the construction drawing design documents to submit for approval at the end of March 2026. After that, continue to carry out contractor selection procedures, striving to start the project on April 30, 2026.
The project to upgrade National Highway 24B section Km23 - Km29 was approved for investment policy in December 2025, with a total investment of nearly 680 billion VND; length of 6.7 km, passing through Truong Quang Trong ward and Son Tinh commune; expected to be completed in 2027.
For the transitional project to upgrade and expand the transport infrastructure system in Dung Quat Economic Zone, the project was started on December 19, 2025. Currently, the construction unit is mobilizing vehicles, equipment, and human resources to accelerate progress and ensure the set plan. The project has a total length of 9.6 km, passing through Binh Son, Van Tuong and Tho Phong communes; expected to be completed in 2027.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the above 3 projects are all key and urgent projects, playing a role in creating momentum for growth and development of the province. In the coming time, Quang Ngai will implement many large national and provincial-level projects. Therefore, departments, branches, and localities with projects passing through need to improve their sense of responsibility, each official should perform well the assigned tasks, contributing to the effective completion of the public investment plan in the area.
