From the central budget allocated nearly 600 billion VND, Quang Ngai is accelerating the expansion and upgrading of National Highway 24B. Accordingly, the project has a total length of 6.75 km, starting point at Km 23+050 (North - South railway intersection) belonging to Truong Quang Trong ward, ending point at Km 29+800 (on the old Tinh Son Commune People's Committee), belonging to Son Tinh commune. The project is invested by the Quang Ngai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.
This is a grade III delta road, design speed of 80 km/h. The roadbed is 17.4 m wide, with 4 lanes. The line adheres to the existing road center, expanding to both sides, the entire road surface structure is high-grade A1 asphalt concrete, prestressed reinforced concrete bridge.
The project has a total investment of more than 679 billion VND (central budget nearly 600 billion VND); of which, construction costs are about 300 billion VND, compensation for site clearance is nearly 280 billion VND, and the rest is contingency funds and other costs.
According to reporters' records on August 24, taking advantage of the sunny weather, contractors mobilized many mechanical equipment to level and construct the ground.
Implementation progress from 2023 to 2027, including the investment preparation phase in 2023 - 2025; investment implementation phase in 2025 - 2027.
According to the investor, the site has been handed over for 2.25/6.75 km, reaching 33.3% of the length of the route. According to the plan from now until December 31, 2026: Complete the inventory of residential land, houses, and architectural structures in the third quarter of 2026.
The investor actively coordinates with Truong Quang Trong Ward People's Committee and Son Tinh Commune People's Committee to accelerate the progress of preparing, submitting for appraisal, and approving compensation and site clearance plans for the project, ensuring that by September 30, 2026, 4.75/6.75 km of site will be handed over, reaching 70% of the route length and basically completing compensation and site clearance work for the project in 2026.
According to the plan from now until the end of December 31, 2026, contractors will accelerate the construction progress of roadbed soil embankment, roadside drainage culverts at locations that have been handed over land; continue to produce girders at the railway overpass, construct Ba Ta bridge and Ba Meo bridge, produce assembly vertical canal components, expected completed volume value is 67.74/338.7 billion VND, reaching 20.0% of the contract value.
It is expected that by December 31, 2026, 194/194 billion VND will be disbursed, reaching 100% of the planned capital allocated for 2026.
Currently, the project is facing some difficulties and obstacles. The reason is that households affected by site clearance in the section passing through Truong Quang Trong ward are not agreeing with the solution to build a railway overpass, although the investor has repeatedly coordinated with Truong Quang Trong Ward People's Committee to organize propaganda and mobilization.
5 households in Truong Quang Trong ward do not agree on the arrangement of resettlement at the frontage land plots of Tinh An Tay resettlement area (belonging to the Road project connecting Thach Bich bridge to Tinh Phong).
The investor proposed that local authorities (Truong Quang Trong ward and Son Tinh commune) pay attention to and strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to agree and support the compensation, support and resettlement policy of the project; promptly remove arising obstacles so that the project can be completed soon according to the direction of the Provincial People's Committee.
