Ready to construct rest stops on the highway in Ha Tinh

TRẦN TUẤN |

Ha Tinh - The site clearance work has been completed, and the rest stop on the North - South expressway in the East phase 2021 - 2025 through Ha Tinh is now ready for construction.

On the afternoon of March 23, Mr. Nguyen Khac Trung - Director of the North - South Expressway Project Management Board, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section (Thang Long Project Management Board - investor) - said that the site clearance work at the rest stop on the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section of the expressway has now been completed.

"It is expected that the rest stop will be constructed in Cam Hung commune, Cam Xuyen district next week," said Mr. Trung.

The type 1 rest stop has a total area of 25,000m2, including items: parking lot, service house (restaurants, refreshment shops, tour guide offices, shuttle tour guide), fuel station, vehicle maintenance and repair workshop, restroom and green space, grass carpet, miniature landscape.

According to Mr. Trung, the North - South expressway project, Dien Chau (Nghe An) - Bai Vot (Ha Tinh) section, period 2017 - 2021, has arranged a rest stop in Yen Ho commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province. Therefore, in the North - South expressway project in the 2021 - 2025 period through Ha Tinh, there is currently only one rest stop in Cam Hung commune, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section.

The North - South Eastern Expressway, phase 2021 - 2025, through Ha Tinh, is 102 km long with 3 component projects: Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang and Vung Ang - Bung.

According to the regulations of Vietnamese standards on high-speed car routes and the distance between rest stops is 50 - 60 km/stop.

Because the Vung Ang (Ky Anh) section is a mountainous area, it is difficult to arrange a rest stop, so the Vung Ang (Ha Tinh) - Bung (Quang Binh) expressway section is proposed to be located in Quang Binh province.

Thus, after completion, the North-South expressway through Ha Tinh province will have 2 rest stops, including a rest stop in Yen Ho commune (Duc Tho district) under the North-South expressway project for the period 2017 - 2021 and a rest stop in Cam Hung commune (Cam Xuyen district) under the North - South expressway for the period 2021 - 2025.
