According to the Kien Giang Department of Tourism, since the New Year holiday, Phu Quoc has continuously welcomed many international flights and large cruise ships docking at the port. The number of international visitors has skyrocketed and broken the record during the Lunar New Year 2025.
Accordingly, on January 27 (December 28), the number of international flights continued to exceed the peak, reaching 40 flights. The number of flights from Taiwan (China) topped with 10 flights, South Korea 9 flights, the rest were flights from China, Kazakhstan, Poland, Mongolia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore. Airlines operated flights to Phu Quoc in the form of regular and charter flights.
According to Phu Quoc International Airport, the Pearl Island has a record of welcoming 38-40 international flights per day. International visitors account for 75% of visitors to the island during the Lunar New Year.
Kien Giang Department of Tourism also said that the increase in international visitors has helped the total tourism revenue in the locality increase sharply, and the revenue for the Lunar New Year holiday is expected to be very positive. Room occupancy in Phu Quoc during Tet reached 90%, mainly concentrated in the 5-star and 4-star hotel segment.
Mr. Dinh Gia Long - General Director of Paradise Land Phu Quoc Company - said: "The number of guests staying at the Sun Paradise Land ecosystem invested by Sun Group in Phu Quoc has grown strongly. The resort system at Bai Kem and the mini hotel system at Hoang Hon Town are reaching a room occupancy rate of up to 90% during the Lunar New Year holiday.
“Every night, thousands of tourists flock to the Kiss of the Sea show, watching the combination of 8 performance technologies and the eye-catching performances of 60 international artists from 20 countries. In particular, the artistic fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. every day here makes tourists burst into tears,” Mr. Long shared.

According to the Director of the Department of Tourism of Kien Giang province, to welcome tourists during the year-end tourist season as well as the Lunar New Year, the Department has directed tourism businesses to strengthen environmental sanitation, ensure fire and explosion prevention and control, improve the quality of tourism products and services, design tours associated with sightseeing, experience activities, and events to attract tourists. Airlines have increased international flights, restored many routes to make travel between countries easier and more convenient, contributing to promoting the growth of international tourism.
In 2025, Kien Giang tourism industry strives to welcome more than 10.6 million visitors. Of which, international visitors are more than 1.1 million; domestic visitors are more than 9.5 million; total revenue reaches 28 trillion VND.
