On the afternoon of May 12, functional agencies of Lam Dong province said they are investigating and clarifying a serious traffic accident that occurred on National Highway 28 passing through Dong Gia Nghia ward.
According to initial information, at about 10:30 am on the same day, a truck with license plate 48H-014.96 was traveling on National Highway 28. In front of the truck was a motorbike with license plate 48B1-432.14 driven by a woman.
When traveling through a narrow bridge section in Nam Gia Nghia ward, the truck collided with a motorbike, causing the woman to fall to the road and be crushed to death on the spot.
Images from the dashcam of a vehicle traveling in the same direction show that at the time of crossing the narrow bridge, the truck moved close to the motorbike before the accident occurred.
Immediately after receiving the news, the police force arrived to examine the scene, regulate traffic and investigate the cause of the incident.
Initially, functional agencies identified the victim as Ms. D. T. L. T (58 years old, residing in Dong Gia Nghia ward).
The truck driver was invited to the headquarters to work, take statements and check for alcohol and drug concentration. Initial test results were negative.
Currently, the cause of the accident is being further investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
