At about 11:45 a.m. on February 25, the elevated railway train was running from Yen Nghia to Cat Linh, when it arrived at Lang Station, it stopped. After about 10 minutes, the loudspeaker system informed the train that the power was about to go out and invited passengers to leave the train.
Dozens of passengers waited in the area waiting to board the train for nearly 10 more minutes before the staff informed them that the train had stopped and invited them to the ticket counter to get a refund.
Regarding the incident, a representative of Hanoi Metro Railway Company Limited (Hanoi Metro) said that due to "the mistake of crossing the route to make the train dao at Cat Linh station", the operator had to temporarily cut off the power to ensure safety". Hanoi Metro hopes passengers will sympathize with this inconvenience.
The Cat Linh - Ha Dong urban railway line is 13 km long, running elevately through 12 stations. Each train has 4 cars, carrying 960 people, a maximum speed of 80 km/h, and an exploitation speed of 35 km/h. The train travel time for the entire route is 23 minutes.
Currently, the lowest ticket price for Cat Linh - Ha Dong railway is 8,000 VND per trip, up to 15,000 VND if traveling the entire route. In 2023, this route will operate more than 81,000 trips, transporting 10.7 million passengers, an increase of 31% over the same period in 2022.
