Urgently construct flooded points on National Highway 55
The work of emergency repair and damage recovery of National Highway 55 section Km211+770 - Km211+900, passing through Doan Ket village, Bao Lam 3 commune, is being urgently implemented to solve the flooding situation on the route.
Currently, the construction contractor is focusing manpower, machinery and vehicles to implement the items, contributing to ensuring safe and convenient traffic for people and vehicles passing through the area.
According to Decision No. 1261/QD-SXD dated July 28, 2026 of the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province, the project has a total investment of 1.2 billion VND from the central budget supplemented with a target for 2026.
The goal of the project is to repair and supplement the drainage system, improve flooding conditions, improve exploitation quality and ensure traffic safety on the route section.
Supplement drainage system, restore road surface
The main items include supplementing the system of ditches and drainage culverts; arranging collection pits, connecting the flow downstream; repairing and restoring the road surface and reinforcing the roadside. The project also supplements the traffic safety system according to regulations.
The project implementation is expected to solve the frequent flooding situation on National Highway 55 in the rainy season, especially in areas with a large population and vehicles passing through.
After completion, the project will contribute to improving drainage capacity, preventing flooding, and ensuring smooth and safe traffic on National Highway 55.
The project also realizes the recommendations of people and local authorities in handling deep flooding points, gradually completing traffic infrastructure in Bao Lam 3 commune.
As Lao Dong Newspaper has reported: Since the beginning of the rainy season, National Highway 55 through the above area has experienced deep flooding dozens of times, causing traffic obstruction.
Especially, from August 17 to now, prolonged heavy rain has caused this section of National Highway 55 to be flooded continuously for nearly 10 days.
Prolonged flooding not only affects travel but also seriously affects people's lives and activities.
Some houses in the area show signs of subsidence and cracked walls, causing people to worry.
