The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 28B through Lam Dong province is about 68km long, is one of the key traffic projects of the region, invested by the Vietnam Road Administration.
Project Management Board 5 is directly assigned to manage and operate construction, the entire route is divided into 2 construction packages.

Recorded during the New Year holiday, many sections on the route still maintain continuous construction. Excavators, excavators, and trucks transporting materials operate smoothly.
Workers also take advantage of the time when traffic volume is low to construct roadbeds and grade crushed stone.
On January 2, Mr. Le Van Chung - Deputy Director of Project Management Board 5 - said that the organization of construction throughout the New Year to compensate for progress was affected in October and November due to heavy rain and extreme weather.
We encourage contractors and workers to take advantage of the holiday to construct, ensuring the overall progress of the project," Mr. Chung said.

To date, the total construction volume has reached about 70% of the contract value. The project implementation process once faced many difficulties due to harsh weather and obstacles in site clearance.
Currently, the entire route only has about 2km of land that has not been handed over, mainly in densely populated areas. At the same time, some technical infrastructure such as water pipelines about 2.5km long and 13 medium-voltage power poles are being coordinated by the locality to relocate.

In the area near Dai Ninh Hydropower Plant, construction teams are focusing on handling the roadbed. Because only one side of the road surface is being constructed, two-way vehicles must circulate in the same lane and have workers regulating to ensure safety.
During the holidays, the traffic volume of tourist vehicles from Phan Thiet to Da Lat increased. Therefore, construction was adjusted flexibly, limiting congestion.

According to the plan, the entire project will be completed in March 2026. Package No. 2 (Km42–Km69) has a faster progress, expected to be basically completed in early January 2026.
Package No. 1 (Km0–Km42) started construction later, so the goal is to complete it in March 2026.

For sections that already have favorable ground, the contractor sets a goal to complete asphalt concrete paving before the Lunar New Year.
Thereby, creating favorable conditions for people and tourists to travel during peak times.

National Highway 28B is the shortest connecting route between Phan Thiet and the administrative center of Lam Dong province, with a large traffic volume, especially tourist and transport vehicles.
In the context that Lien Khuong Airport is about to be temporarily suspended for upgrade, the role of this route becomes even more important.
Maintaining construction throughout Tet shows the determination of the investor and contractors to soon complete the project. Thereby, contributing to ensuring smooth traffic and promoting socio-economic development of the region.
