Risk of traffic accidents
Currently, on National Highway 14 (Ho Chi Minh Road), National Highway 20, National Highway 28 and many provincial roads in Lam Dong province, there is still a situation of agricultural tractors, small tractors, and self-made three-wheeled vehicles circulating.
These are the main means of transport serving agricultural production, transporting agricultural products, supplies, and fertilizers. However, many vehicles do not meet technical safety conditions, lack traffic lights, rearview mirrors, reflectors, or carry bulky goods.
When traveling on roads with high vehicle density, these vehicles pose a risk of causing traffic accidents.

According to the Traffic Police force, tractor-trailers and small tractors are only suitable for operating in fields, swiddens or rural roads.
When traveling on national highways, these vehicles have slow speed, limited visibility, and are prone to collisions with trucks, passenger cars and container trucks.
Worryingly, many cases are also overloaded, pulling homemade trailers, carrying people on the truck bed or traveling at night without lighting or reflector systems, increasing the risk of accidents.
In addition, self-made three-wheeled vehicles also regularly appear in rural areas and suburban areas to transport construction materials, agricultural products and bulky goods.
The traffic of these vehicles may obscure visibility, affecting the safety of other vehicles on the road.

Strengthen inspection and handling of violations
Faced with the above situation, the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police has directed teams and stations to strengthen patrols and controls on key roads.
In which, focus on handling violations related to agricultural vehicles, tractors, and self-made three-wheeled vehicles.
Functional forces also promote propaganda and mobilize people not to use vehicles that do not meet technical conditions when participating in traffic; guide the installation of full headlights, rearview mirrors and reflector equipment for vehicles licensed to operate.

Lieutenant Colonel Van Ngoc Lap - Head of Road Traffic Police Team No. 4 (in charge of Ho Chi Minh Road) - said that agricultural tractors and tractors are common means of serving agricultural production in the locality. However, many vehicles still circulate on national highways and provincial roads when safety conditions are not ensured.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Van Ngoc Lap, tractor-trailers and tractors are not allowed to carry people on the truck bed when participating in traffic. This is an act that potentially causes accidents and can lead to serious consequences.

In the coming time, the Traffic Police force will coordinate with local authorities to review vehicles, strengthen propaganda, and mobilize people to comply with regulations, especially during the agricultural harvest season.
Along with inspection and handling of violations, drivers of tractor-trailers, tractors and three-wheeled vehicles need to use vehicles for the right purpose, within the correct operating range, and not circulate without ensuring safety conditions.
Thereby, contributing to limiting accidents and ensuring traffic order and safety on national highways in Lam Dong.
