Updated from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7 am this morning (July 10), the center of Typhoon Bavi (Vietnamese name is Typhoon Ba Vi) was located at about 20.6 degrees North latitude - 127.3 degrees East longitude, about 650km southeast of Taiwan Island (China); about 1000km southeast of Fujian province (China). The intensity of the typhoon has decreased significantly to level 14 (down 2 levels compared to yesterday).
Forecast for the next 24 hours, Typhoon Bavi will move mainly in the Northwest direction at a speed of about 25km/h and the intensity tends to gradually decrease.
It is forecasted that in the next 2-3 days, Typhoon Bavi will continue to move northward, with a much more deviated direction to the North. The storm's landfall area is between Fujian and Zhejiang provinces of China. The time of landfall is around the night of July 11, early morning of July 12 (ie Saturday night and early morning of Sunday). The storm's intensity when making landfall is strong at level 10-12, gusting at level 14.
Vietnam's meteorological agency assessed that Typhoon Bavi will not move into the East Sea, but the influence of Typhoon Bavi's circulation in the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Vinh Long, the central and southern East Sea area (including Truong Sa special zone) has strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 7-8, rough seas.
East of the Northern East Sea, wind gradually strengthens to level 6, gusting to level 8, sea waves are 2 - 4m high; rough seas.
