No days off on site
In mid-December 2024, at the parallel road of Ring Road 4 through Hoai Duc district (Hanoi), reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper recorded that the project had many obvious changes after about 17 months of construction.
At the construction site, many machines, workers, and engineers are mobilized to construct project items. The construction site almost never has a moment of silence.
Package No. 9 (Component Project 2.1, construction of parallel road to Hanoi Ring Road 4) is constructed by contractor Vinaconex. The total length of the route is about 21km, passing through 2 districts of Hoai Duc and Dan Phuong.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hai - Commander of Package No. 9 - said that after 17 months from the start of construction, the section of the route undertaken by the contractor has reached about 40% of its output.
At the construction site, about 200 machines and 300 workers are working with a total of 18 construction teams day and night with the spirit of "no days off, wherever the site is, the contractor will mobilize personnel to work there".
"Up to now, the construction progress is still on schedule. The contractor is striving to complete the sections with available land in 2025," Mr. Hai affirmed.
Meanwhile, the 13km-long package No. 8 through Soc Son and Me Linh districts has also taken shape after nearly 1.5 years of construction. Many sections have been paved with asphalt.
The contractor is mobilizing many machines and personnel to construct and install the Ca Lo River overpass and the Hanoi - Lao Cai railway overpass.
The construction unit has basically completed the construction of the bridge piers and is installing the girders. The progress of the package so far has reached over 40% of the output.
Similar to package number 9 through Ha Dong district and Thanh Oai district, package number 10 through Thuong Tin district is also being implemented by contractors in locations where there is already a clear site.
Three localities accelerate together
According to the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, after about 17 months from the groundbreaking date, 4 construction packages in Hanoi have been simultaneously deployed on a route length of 48.35km with 32 construction points (23 road points, 9 bridge points).
Output to date is about 1,810/4,205 billion VND (reaching 43.04% of contract value and 100% of the 2024 plan).
Regarding the project's site clearance progress, up to now, Hanoi has approved and reclaimed 786.2/798.65 hectares of land, reaching 98.44%. In the remaining 12.45 hectares that have not been cleared, there are 2.93 hectares of agricultural land and other land, and 9.52 hectares of residential land.
The Hanoi Traffic Project Management Board has received 776.82/786.2 hectares of land, equivalent to 48.35km/52.73km, reaching 91.7%. However, there are still many interruptions and stops along the route.
Hanoi strives to complete site clearance and handover before December 31, 2024; some difficult cases will be completed before the Lunar New Year. Hanoi strives to complete the parallel project in the fourth quarter of 2025.
