Pedestrian bridge over Saigon River
The pedestrian bridge connecting District 1 with Thu Duc City is expected to start construction on March 29 with a total investment of about VND1,000 billion from the enterprise's funding source.
The bridge is designed in the image of water coconut leaves - a typical symbol of the South.

The bridge is about 261m long, of which the main span of the cable-stayed arch is 187m long. The bridge surface has a width ranging from 7 to 11m, with the highest water level height of 10m.
On the District 1 side, the approach bridge is 285m long and 6m wide; while on the Thu Duc City side, there are two approach branches 290m and 165m long respectively.

In addition to the lane reserved for bicycles and pedestrians, the bridge is also capable of carrying a maximum of 3 tons of ambulances.
The project is also equipped with a roof, modern lighting system and many other utilities to ensure safety and convenience for people.
The bridge is expected to be completed in 2027, becoming a unique architectural highlight of Ho Chi Minh City, while promoting tourism and connecting the center with the Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
Thu Thiem 4 Bridge
Thu Thiem 4 Bridge has a total length of 2.16 km, of which the main bridge is more than 1.6 km long with 6 lanes. The bridge connects from the Tan Thuan 2 Bridge - Nguyen Van Linh intersection (District 7) to the intersection of the North-South axis - Bui Thien Ngo Street (Thu Thiem New Urban Area).
Initially, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport proposed a bridge clearance of 15m and could be increased to 45m when needed, with a total investment of more than VND6,000 billion.

In August 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee consulted the Ministry of Transport and planned to choose a fixed clearance of 15m, with no more solutions for raising and lowering.
However, because the city plans to develop Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi port into an international passenger port, the issue of bridge clearance needs to be reconsidered.

Currently, the city is waiting to update the planning of this port in the Ho Chi Minh City Master Plan Adjustment Project to 2040, with a vision to 2060.
After the project is approved by the Prime Minister, the Department of Transport will complete the pre-feasibility study report and submit it to the competent authority for approval.
It is expected that Thu Thiem 4 Bridge will start construction in 2025 and be completed in 2028.
When put into use, the bridge will help reduce the load on existing routes such as Ton Duc Thang, Nguyen Tat Thanh, Khanh Hoi Bridge, Huynh Tan Phat and Nguyen Van Linh, while shortening travel time between Thu Duc City, Binh Thanh with Districts 7, 8, Nha Be and Binh Chanh.
Thu Thiem 3 Bridge
According to the plan, Thu Thiem 3 Bridge will start from Ton Dan Street (District 4), cross Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi Port land (Saigon Port) and cross the Saigon River to connect with the Thu Thiem New Urban Area.

Since 2016, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has assigned a joint venture of two private companies to research and propose investment in projects under the BT (build - transfer) form. After that, a number of other investors participated, however, the project has not yet been implemented.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City is reviewing the investment plan to soon promote the construction of Thu Thiem 3 bridge.
When completed, this bridge will help connect District 4 and Thu Duc City faster, reducing traffic pressure for the central area.
