On the afternoon of January 13, information from Nha Trang City Police (Khanh Hoa) said that, regarding the luxury car that crashed into Nha Trang beach in the early morning of January 13, the Nha Trang City Traffic Police force took the car to the temporary detention yard to continue investigating according to regulations.
Through initial verification, the authorities determined that at the time of the incident, there were 4 women and 1 man in the car. The 4 girls in the Mercedes were: Le Ngoc M (born in 2001, residing in Cam Thinh Dong commune, Cam Ranh city), Pham Thi Ngoc D, Le Thi Thao Ng and Nguyen Hoai Thanh T, all residing in Ninh Thuan province.
The driver of the vehicle, a young man, left the scene and did not report the incident to the authorities.
The accident left Le Ngoc M with a right shoulder injury. The alcohol test on Le Ngoc M, who is being treated at the hospital, was negative.
The authorities also investigated and verified that the owner of the Mercedes resides in Ward 15, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, in the early morning of January 13, a black Mercedes car was traveling on Dien Bien Phu Street when it suddenly plunged straight into the sea at the intersection with Pham Van Dong Street (Vinh Hoa Ward, Nha Trang City).
The five people in the car were then helped to shore by local people and one person was taken to the hospital. The car was hit by strong waves and was severely damaged. Rescuers then proceeded to salvage the car early in the morning of January 13.
