The extended Le Quang Dao road connecting Ha Dong and Nam Tu Liem districts (Hanoi) officially opened to technical traffic on April 19, after more than two years of construction.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, although newly put into use, many directional signs and traffic signs on the route have had problems when covered by trees and light poles, affecting the observation of road users.
The survey shows that traffic signs are most obscured in the area near the intersection with Dai Mo Street, including signs showing directions such as Duong Noi, D. Noi; Le Quang Dao, Louis 4, NL. Thang Long, AEON Mall Ha Dong, To Huu...

In addition, some traffic signs such as no stopping, turning right, signs intersecting with non-priority roads...were arranged inappropriately and were obscured by trees and light poles, making it impossible for people to observe from afar.
Mr. Le Manh Hung (residing in Ha Dong district, Hanoi) said that after a few days of opening to traffic, he observed that many signs and traffic signs on Le Quang Dao street were long-standingly obscured.
Only when stopping in front of these signs can people like Mr. Hung see all the content on the sea.
Mr. Hung said that this was too inappropriate, making it difficult for people to observe and affecting traffic safety.
"The authorities must promptly inspect and have a way to handle traffic signs to promote their effectiveness, ensuring safety for people when participating in traffic" - Mr. Hung said.

Regarding the reflection of Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Nam Tu Liem District Investment and Construction Project Management Board (Hanoi) said that they will conduct a survey and adjust the signs placed at locations where visibility is obstructed to be suitable.
"The unit will check, it needs to be adjusted immediately. This is a must because it involves the safety of traffic participants" - this person said.

The Le Quang Dao extended road construction project is about 2.6km long, starting in February 2023 with a total investment of more than 700 billion VND.
The route starts at the intersection with Thang Long Avenue (Nam Tu Liem District) and ends at Duong Noi Urban Area (Ha Dong District).
The route is designed according to inter-regional road standards, speed 60km/h, 6 lanes. The typical cross-section of the road is 40m.
When put into use, the extended Le Quang Dao road is expected to shorten travel time between Nam Tu Liem district and Ha Dong district, reducing traffic congestion on main routes such as Thang Long Avenue, Road 70, and To Huu Street.
