On May 31, Vung Tau Ward People's Committee (HCMC) said it had just issued a notice of changes in traffic organization on Vi Ba and Hai Dang roads, leading to the top of Big Mountain (Tuong Ky) and Small Mountain (Tao Phung) in the area. These are roads that attract a large number of people and tourists to visit and experience because they can admire the sea scenery and the entire Vung Tau area from above.
According to the new plan, on these two roads, cars will be banned from circulating during the hours of 5am-8am and 4pm-7pm, applying all days of the week from May 31st. At the same time, traffic is prohibited for cars with 29 seats or more.
Previously, these two roads were completely closed to cars (except for some vehicles of units and households living on these roads). Instead, tourists will be transported by electric vehicles; or travel by electric vehicles and motorbikes to visit and experience along the road leading to the mountain peak.
However, after a period of application, local authorities assessed that this plan still has some shortcomings, not suitable for the actual needs of people and tourists, so they have reorganized traffic on these 2 routes.
In addition, Le Quy Don street (section from Le Loi to Quang Trung) will also remove the no-parking sign, replacing it with a no-parking sign on even and odd days.
According to Vung Tau Ward People's Committee, the reorganization of traffic is to ensure traffic order and safety; meet the travel needs of people and improve the efficiency of state management in the area.
The Ward People's Committee assigned the Construction Investment Project Management Board to quickly organize the installation and adjustment of the sign system according to the agreed plan; assigned the Ward Police to strengthen patrols, guide and handle violations, ensuring traffic order and safety during the implementation process.
