For many years, Tang Loong Industrial Park has been an important driving force for industrial growth in Lao Cai, contributing tens of trillions of VND in revenue and budget each year.
However, along with the strong development of production activities, the transportation system in the industrial park is gradually degrading, affecting the transportation of goods and people's lives.

On May 30, present at Tang Loong Industrial Park (Tang Loong commune), reporters recorded many roads showing signs of peeling, cracked, sunken road surfaces and many potholes.
In particular, the T2 road connecting from Provincial Road 151 to the industrial park - where hundreds of trucks and tractor trucks carrying raw materials, chemicals and goods circulate every day, is seriously degraded.
Many sections of road surface are damaged for a long time, causing vehicles to slow down or continuously avoid potholes.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (Tang Loong commune) said: "The road sections are heavily damaged, when it's sunny it's dusty, when it rains it's watery and slippery. Motorbikes passing by are very dangerous, especially in the evening when visibility is limited.
According to research, Tang Loong Industrial Park was established in 2011 with a scale of about 1,100 hectares.
Currently, this place has filled over 90% of the area with 28 large and small projects, including 13 fertilizer and chemical production plants; 3 metallurgical plants; 1 ore processing plant and many other supporting industrial projects.

The factories here currently create jobs for about 5,680 workers with an average income of over 13 million VND/person/month.
In 2025, the industrial production value in Tang Loong Industrial Park reached nearly 20,800 billion VND, accounting for more than 27% of the total industrial production value of the whole province and more than 81% of the production value of industrial parks in the North.
Revenue reached nearly 25,000 billion VND, contributing more than 1,270 billion VND to the budget.

Mr. Ha Duc Thuan - Deputy Head of the Economic Zone Management Board of Lao Cai province said that the traffic road in Tang Loong Industrial Park, especially the section connecting from the intersection of Provincial Road 151 to the industrial park, is currently very seriously degraded.
Tang Loong Industrial Park was built in the 1980s, almost all the funding in this area was not invested by the state budget in the past. By 2012, when many businesses came in, they contributed money to repair it for exploitation.
After many years of use, the roads have deteriorated. We have also paid great attention to this for many years," Mr. Thuan said.
According to the leader of the Economic Zone Management Board, in the period 2024 - 2025, the route connecting to Provincial Road 152 has been invested and completed, contributing to reducing traffic pressure in the area.
For the T2 road from Provincial Road 151 to Tang Loong Industrial Park, the province has approved funding for renovation and repair.

The total cost of renovating roads in the industrial park is about 70 billion VND, of which the T2 route to Duc Giang area is about 20 billion VND. Currently, it is being assigned to the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board to organize bidding to select contractors," Mr. Thuan informed.
According to the plan, the project is expected to start construction around June - July 2026.
Some other routes also have projects, with repair costs of about 50 billion VND. Procedures will only be completed at the end of this year and construction will start in the first quarter of 2027, completion in the fourth quarter of 2027. When the routes are repaired and upgraded, they will basically meet the transportation needs of businesses," Mr. Thuan added.
