According to official dispatch No. 81/TB-SGTVT on traffic organization adjustment allowing some vehicles to circulate on Chuong Duong Bridge, Hanoi City from January 20, cars carrying students are allowed to circulate on Chuong Duong Bridge in both directions.
Previously, due to the impact of storm No. 3 (storm Yagi), hydroelectric plants were releasing floodwaters, causing the water level of the Red River to rise, the current to flow rapidly, affecting the infrastructure of the bridge. To ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles traveling across the bridge, the Hanoi Department of Transport announced a plan to adjust traffic organization, limiting vehicles traveling on Chuong Duong Bridge.
To ensure traffic safety and order and reduce congestion in Hanoi, the Department of Transport has announced a plan to adjust traffic organization to allow some vehicles to circulate on Chuong Duong Bridge.
Accordingly, school buses are allowed to travel through Chuong Duong Bridge in both directions. Specific regulations on school buses are in Appendix III of Circular No. 53/2024/TT-BGTVT dated November 15, 2024 of the Ministry of Transport. The implementation period starts from 6:00 a.m. on January 20, 2025 until a replacement notice is issued.
The remaining vehicles continue to operate according to Notice No. 955/TB-SGTVT dated September 9, 2024 of the Hanoi Department of Transport and other relevant current regulations.
Continue to ban passenger cars, contract cars, tourist cars with more than 9 seats; ban trucks with a load capacity of more than 0.5 tons from traveling through Chuong Duong bridge. Buses are allowed to operate.
Passenger cars, contract cars, tourist cars with more than 9 seats and trucks with a load capacity of over 0.5 tons will travel through the following bridges: Thanh Tri, Nhat Tan, Vinh Tuy, Thang Long.
The Hanoi Department of Transport requested the Hoan Kiem and Long Bien District Police and local authorities to arrange forces to coordinate with the Hanoi Department of Transport Inspectorate, Hanoi Traffic Police and related units to regulate and guide traffic flow to avoid traffic congestion.
Strengthen inspection and handling of violations of traffic safety and urban order on roads and intersections.
At the same time, monitor and evaluate traffic situation on the route and area to promptly detect problems and propose appropriate traffic organization adjustments.
