On the morning of July 30, on National Highway 5 through Lai Vu area (in the direction of Hai Phong - Hanoi, in the old Hai Duong province), an accident occurred between two tractor-trailers, paralyzing traffic for many hours.
According to the scene, the tractor carrying dozens of large steel coils when traveling to the above area suddenly hit the back of another tractor-trailer moving in front. The collision occurred with great force, causing the front of the steel truck to be crushed, completely deformed, and the cabin to break. Fortunately, the driver was not seriously injured.
The collision also caused many steel coils on the vehicle to release from the chain and fall onto the road. Some coils weighing tons rolled into the deadly lane in the middle of the national highway, seriously obstructing the flow of vehicles.
Many drivers said they were stuck in the middle of a long line of vehicles, unable to move for more than an hour.
National Highway 5 is a vital route connecting Hai Phong - Hanoi, with thousands of container trucks, tractors, and heavy trucks traveling every day. This is also one of the routes with frequent accidents, especially at intersections and sections with high traffic density.
