On January 27, leaders of the Madaguoi Traffic Police Station (Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police) said that the unit had received information reflecting the incident of a passenger car carrying students overtaking recklessly on Bao Loc Pass, causing public outrage.

Currently, the Madaguoi Traffic Police Station has sent an invitation requesting the passenger car driver and representatives of related transport enterprises to work to handle it according to regulations.
Previously, a clip circulated on Facebook recording the scene of a 52-seater passenger car blatantly overtaking recklessly at a sharp turn, with a no-overtaking road marking on Bao Loc Pass, National Highway 20 (Lam Dong province).
The reckless overtaking behavior of the passenger car made many viewers of the clip indignant and worried about the level of traffic safety on this pass route.
According to images from the dashcam of a car, the incident happened at about 1 pm on January 23, when the traffic flow through Bao Loc Pass was quite crowded.

In the clip, a passenger car with a banner with license plate 51F - 04187 carrying students on a picnic is traveling in the direction from Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh City at high speed.
When reaching a sharp turn with a road marking prohibiting overtaking on Bao Loc Pass, with many vehicles in front, the driver still drove the car into the opposite lane to overtake.
Notably, the time when the passenger car overtook recklessly was also when a car was moving in the opposite direction, forcing the driver of this car to brake suddenly and rush close to the side of the road to avoid a direct collision.
Many opinions believe that this is a dangerous act, especially in the context that Bao Loc Pass is a steep, winding pass road, narrow road surface, often foggy, and dense traffic of large trucks and passenger cars.
Just a small mistake, a serious accident can completely occur, directly threatening the lives of dozens of passengers on the bus and other vehicles participating in traffic.
The majority of opinions suggested that functional agencies should strictly handle passenger car drivers who overtake recklessly to deter and prevent similar violations.
Ensuring traffic safety on the Bao Loc pass route is not only the responsibility of functional forces but also greatly depends on the awareness of law compliance of each driver, especially those who drive vehicles carrying many passengers.
Bao Loc Pass is a key pass on National Highway 20, connecting Da Huoai 2 commune and Bao Loc Ward 3 (Lam Dong).
The pass is about 10km long, with many winding, dangerous curves and frequent traffic accidents; it is also an important connecting axis between the Southeast provinces and Lam Dong.
