On February 12, Highway Traffic Patrol and Control Team No. 6 (Room 6, Traffic Police Department) quickly verified and fined drivers for not complying with safety distance regulations when participating in traffic.
Previously, at noon on February 11, Team 6 received information as camera data about a vehicle violating on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway.
Through verification, this unit determined that the incident occurred from November 28, 2025 at km227 of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway through Ham Thanh commune, Lam Dong province.
The vehicle driver was identified as Mr. D. T. T (born in 1987, residing in Dak Lak province). According to images from a vehicle's dashcam, while overtaking, the sleeper bus did not maintain a safe distance from the car running in front.
With clear recorded images, fully reflecting the violation developments, driver D. T. T signed to admit the violation and comply with the handling according to regulations.
Traffic police have made a record of handling driver T for the act of violating "Not complying with regulations on safe distance for vehicles running immediately before traveling on highways" according to point d, clause 5, Article 6 of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP.
According to Team 6, this is one of the potential causes of serious traffic accidents.
For the above violation, the driver was fined 5,000,000 VND, and at the same time 2 points were deducted from the driver's license.
The Traffic Police force recommends that road users on highways maintain a safe distance, control speed and strictly comply with regulations to prevent accidents and ensure safety when traveling.
