Over the past time, many drivers have reflected that the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway surface has potholes and many patches.
Records at Km234 - the end point of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway through Ham Kiem commune (Lam Dong province) show that many patches are densely located on one lane. Vehicles running at high speed through this area are shaken.
Although the damaged positions have been temporarily patched, the surface after treatment is still not flat compared to the remaining road surface. Some drivers, when detecting the patched section from afar, actively switched to the adjacent lane to avoid it.
The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, more than 100km long, passing through Lam Dong province, was put into operation in May 2023. The road is invested by the Ministry of Construction, with a total investment of more than 10,000 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Khac Viet, Managing Director of Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway Project (Ministry of Construction), said that after the warranty period expires, from April 1, 2026, the management and maintenance of the route will be transferred to Road Management Zone IV.
Mr. Pham Thanh Tuan, Head of Road Management Office IV. 1 under Road Management Zone IV, Vietnam Road Administration (Ministry of Construction), said that the unit regularly patrols and reviews the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet route and has recorded damaged road surface locations.
According to Mr. Tuan, immediately after detecting damaged points, the unit organizes temporary patching to ensure traffic safety. For newly arising points, the unit will organize inspection and handling.
In June 2025, many locations on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway experienced peeling and potholes. At that time, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway Project Management Board requested contractors to fix it.
