The material and spiritual life of the people continues to improve; agricultural production is maintained stably; small-scale trading and service activities are basically stable. The work of caring for policy beneficiaries, poor households, and near-poor households is carried out promptly and in accordance with regulations.
People's health care is ensured; people proactively prevent and control epidemics. Social security policies are fully implemented. Political security and social order and safety are maintained; People well comply with the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws.
However, people are also concerned about the prices of essential goods, high prices of gasoline and oil, low rice prices; the situation of counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, food safety and hygiene issues, traffic unsafety, petty theft, online fraud, and a lot of information on social networks also make people confused and difficult to distinguish between real and fake... Besides, environmental issues, transport infrastructure, irrigation, and production support are also of concern to people and proposed for handling.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - City Party Committee Member, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City, Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation - emphasized that it is necessary to continue to closely follow the leadership of the Party Committee, proactively coordinate with the government to effectively implement socio-economic development tasks of the locality; especially new rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction programs.
Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai requested to improve the quality of propaganda and mobilization work, especially on major holidays and new policies. At the same time, strengthen information orientation, contributing to stabilizing people's thoughts in the face of sensitive issues such as prices, food safety, information on social networks...
Continue to innovate and improve the effectiveness of social supervision and criticism, focusing on areas directly related to people's rights such as land, social security, environment, infrastructure investment.
