The results of fighting and preventing crime in general, investigating, verifying, and handling cases of illegal transportation of goods across borders in particular by the City Border Guard contribute to managing and firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security; fighting and preventing crime and law violations, maintaining security and order, creating a solid foundation for local economic, cultural, and social development, and consolidating national defense and security.
From the above results, the Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 10 individuals; the Border Guard Command awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 collectives and 4 individuals.

On this occasion, the President awarded the Second-class Military Exploit Medal to the collective of the Border Guard Command of Can Tho City and 1 individual for making outstanding and unexpected achievements in the fight against crime, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety.
Previously, on May 29, 2025, implementing the plan to patrol and control the sea border area, the Border Guard patrol team discovered and chased a vehicle showing signs of violating the law.
After a period of fierce pursuit, the patrol team approached the violating vessel and conducted an inspection, discovering more than 820,000 liters of Diezen oil of unknown origin, worth nearly 9 billion VND.
The unit issued a Decision to prosecute a criminal case on "Illegally transporting goods across borders", initial investigation according to its authority and handed over the case to the Investigation Police Agency of Can Tho City Police for handling and investigation according to regulations.
