On April 12, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province organized a gift-giving ceremony for poor and near-poor Khmer households in Ham Giang and Dai An communes on the occasion of the 2026 Chol Chnam Thmay Tet.
Attending the gift-giving ceremony were Mr. Kien Banh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and leaders of the Party Committee, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ham Giang and Dai An communes.
In Ham Giang commune, the delegation presented 284 gifts to poor and near-poor households; in Dai An commune, 135 gifts were presented to poor and near-poor households.

Each gift is worth 500,000 VND, deducted from the province's Fund for the Poor, showing the concern of the Party and State for ethnic Khmer people in difficult circumstances.
The activity contributes to strengthening the great national unity bloc, creating motivation for people to strive to work and produce, gradually stabilizing and improving their lives.
Representatives of leaders of Ham Giang and Dai An communes sent thanks to the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province for promptly supporting local people.
Ham Giang commune has over 90% of the population being Khmer, while Dai An commune has nearly 50%, so caring for the lives of ethnic minorities is always of particular concern to the locality.
