On April 11, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Ngai Tu commune coordinated with the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province to organize the presentation of gifts to poor households, near-poor households and households in difficult circumstances in the commune on the occasion of the traditional Tet Chol Chnam Thmay 2026 of the Khmer people.
In this phase, 154 households received gifts, each worth 500,000 VND in cash. The total implementation cost is 77 million VND, deducted from the "For the Poor" Fund of the province managed by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province.
Mr. Le Hoang Hai - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ngai Tu commune - said that although the gifts are not of great material value, they show the concern and sharing of Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and organizations for households that still face many difficulties.
Thereby, contributing to encouraging and creating conditions for people to celebrate the 2026 Chol Chnam Thmay Tet in a joyful, warm, and meaningful atmosphere; and at the same time adding motivation for families to strive to rise up and stabilize their lives.
Representing the household receiving the gift, Ms. Thach Thi Em (resident of Thong Nguyen hamlet) emotionally expressed: the family is in difficult circumstances, so the gift received on this occasion is a practical source of encouragement, helping the family have more conditions to prepare to welcome the traditional Tet of the nation in a warmer atmosphere.
On the occasion of this year's Chôl Chnăm Thmây Tet, Ngai Tu commune has actively mobilized resources inside and outside the locality to care for poor households, near-poor households and households in difficult circumstances, with more than 500 gifts being presented, each worth from 300,000 VND to 500,000 VND.
The activity contributes to spreading the spirit of solidarity, mutual affection, joining hands to care for people's lives, and ensuring social security in the commune.
